Lion Brave Quilt Update

For the past few months, in among other big projects, I have been working on creating a very large new Foundation Paper Piece Pattern, and I have finally finished my first draft!

I'm calling this pattern Lion Brave. It is an entirely Foundation Paper Pieced Quilt Top, although there are some sections which could be used as templates if you prefer. In this quilt, I have used a variety of fabrics, including some solids and scraps of prints from my stash, along with Moda Grunge for the Lion's face, and some other cool yellow-orange prints that I found at Katipatch and my local Bernina Store for the mane and background.

This pattern is big, it measures 50" across by 70" down, a great size for covering a single bed! This particular quilt is off to Wise Owl Quilting for some long arm work, and then it will be auctioned off for charity (actually - the local Lioness club!)

For my next version of this quilt, I plan to make the face and mane in Greyscale prints and the background nice and colorful. If everything goes according to plan, some of Andover's 2019 Sun Prints by Alison Glass will be in there. I'm looking for more people to test this pattern for me, so get in touch if you are keen!

Happy Piecing!
RJ
