IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. Craftsy store no longer in operation.

I just received an email from Craftsy stating that they will be closing my pattern store, (along with the stores of many other indie designers ) as of December 28th 2018.

"Over the years, we’ve received many suggestions for improvement from designers and members alike, and we are taking the first steps in re-shaping our marketplace now. While we do so, we will be significantly reducing the number of stores and patterns available on our site at the end of this year."

To all customers that have previously purchased through Craftsy - Thank you, and don't worry, I checked with craftsy and you will still have access to your purchased patterns in the future. This is what they have said:

"Any patterns purchased will still be available in members' Pattern Libraries, regardless of the status of your store. If your pattern(s) were removed from the site, the PDF will remain available to those who have purchased them, just as any patterns you have purchased as a customer will be available to you in your Pattern Library forever."

I know that customers like to have some choice in where they purchase patterns from, so with that in mind I have added a link to the new Payhip store on the main page. Just bear in mind that the full inventory is not available there yet... but I'm working on it!

Thanks for your continued support!

Up in the Air Pattern Pack released !

Today I have finally finished my second helicopter, ready for my Up in the Air Quilt. I'm loving how these Aircraft Blocks are turning out and I'm sure that when the quilt is finished, it will become a treasured item for the lucky little person who receives it.

These helicopter patterns were a lot of fun to make, and the pattern is quite easy to put together - I think this is worth giving a try, even if you are relatively new to the paper piecing technique.

Julia has also completed her helicopter block and as usual, it looks amazing:

Julia is a very talented quilter and I really encourage you to check out the quilts she has for sale in her Etsy store.

Having completed all four patterns, the Helicopter, Rocket, Plane and Hot Air Balloon, I have decided to release a pattern pack with all four included in the Etsy store, Craftsy store, and also the new Payhip Store. Buying all four patterns as a pack is a little bit more cost-effective, than buying all four of the individual patterns.

These patterns are super cute and so much fun to make - also I will be giving away one pack to the first person to comment on this post and let me know what you think!

Happy Piecing!

Blast Off!

As you may know, I have been working on a number of blocks recently with the theme of being 'Up in the Air'. So far I have completed blocks for a Hot Air Balloon, and an Aeroplane. One of my awesome pattern testers Julia from Julia McTeer Quilting has also been working on her own version of this quilt. Over the past couple of weeks we have been both working on a 12"  Rocket Pattern. I have to say - Julia's turned out MUCH nicer than mine did!
These examples are both good to show how much fun Foundation paper piecing can be though - and that just because a pattern suggests a certain colour, doesn't mean you can't make it your own and choose something funky instead!

Check out both our Rockets below:

Next, we will be working on the Helicopter Pattern and then hopefully soon after that, we will be able to show off our completed quilts!

If you are interested in joining us or testing some of my other patterns - please do enter your name and email address in the sign-up field on the bottom of the Kohatu Patterns home page, or Click Here.

I need people of all skill levels, including beginners, so don't be afraid!

Happy Piecing!
