Many of you would have already seen my Garden Inspired Lap Quilt Pattern pop up in the Payhip Store or on Instagram. It's called Grandmother's Garden (yes I know this is already an English Paper Piecing technique - but it is very practically named after finding inspiration from my own Grandmother's actual garden!) This quilt has quite striking colours and is made up of six 9" quilt blocks each one used twice to make a beautiful lap quilt which measures approximately 46" across and 35" down once the 2" sashing is added (although you could switch the rows or adjust the sashing to make it a different size if you wish).

My next article for this magazine will be in March featuring a different pattern from this collection. Over the course of the year, we plan to make the entire Grandmother's Garden Lap Quilt as a bit of a sew-along. We are staring with the easier patterns - so if you have never tried paper piecing before, this could be a great project to start with.
